a week in the life of me

this is how my week usually goes:

i start working at 3am, so i would usually take a nap around midnight and wake up at 3am. i would work until 6, and be back home ten minutes later.

at home, i'd fix myself breakfast, watch the news, maybe read the newspaper a little, and then i'd catch some sleep, and wake up around noon. i'd shower, then check my emails, surf the net, and then write a bit. by late afternoon, i would start cooking dinner. after dinner, i'd watch tv, then read/write, and then sleep before going to work again.

this god-awful monotony goes on, day in and day out, every day, monday thru friday.

on thurday, though, i have my second job. after i finish my first job early in the morning, there's a 45 minutes drive to pick up the materials, then stop for gas and some breakfast, and by nine i'd commence delivery. five hours later i would finish, cash out my money collection, drop the stuff, then perhaps do some grocery shopping, and be back home by six pm. i would have my take-out dinner, get some sleep, and go to work again at 3 in the wee mornin'.

yeah, i know. some life, huh.

i try to mix in some stuff to do, in midst of this humdrum existance; some 'fun' things, that is, as far as fun goes for a lonesome single guy like me. i try to golf once a week, mondays or tuesdays, weather permitting. i don't have a golf buddy, so i'll just join whomever, or sometimes i'll be play alone. i'd whack the ball, walk, then whack again, stop to search for the ball, then walk some more. jolly good way to burn time, i tell ya.

on other days i'll go shopping, or window-shopping really, touching and admiring and dreaming of expansive things that i wish i'd someday buy. i haven't been to the library lately, but that's where i would chill out, checking out new books, do a little research, etc. there's a piano room in the library, so i'd have some fun practising/jamming. on fridays, of course, there's the friday prayer.

weekend is when i stay home, catching up on a weeks worth of sleep. i drive for a living, so i made myself swear that i will stay off the driving whenever i can. there's usually a golf tournament on tv, or else, football, and so i would stay glued. otherwise, - read, write, sleep.

and then the week will start all over again.

repeat, rinse, repeat.
