as expected, the year of crap
what did i tell ya...
didn't i already say this year will be bad?
kumari got me in trouble today. i was driving, and all the sudden the brake came completely loose. i was frantically stepping on the brake, and i had to press real hard before the car finally stopped. at first i thought maybe the brake fluid was out, so i replaced it, and then i saw what happened: the brakeline bursted wide and it was leaking and squirting brake liquid everytime i stepped on the brake.
so i drove carefully to the brakeshop across the street from my apartment, and i was told they can't repair it. actually, i was told to throw away the car they won't repair coz it's old. i'm not kidding, they actually said that, and it took all my civility not to throw a punch at their smirking faces.
so i drove back, trying to drive as careful as i could with a foul braking system, but first i had to turn the block to get home. and there was a stop sign that i completely missed because i was struggling to stop the car, and lo and behold, a police officer was there.
the officer took my ID, went to the squad car to check it, came back to me and asked me pointedly why was i driving with a suspended license.
i said, what???
she said, yeah, it's suspended, and you have to come with me.
now kumari's getting towed and impounded, and i was riding at the back of a police car.
at the station i asked why was i informed of the suspended license, and the officer said that's not her problem. i looked at the tickets and said, wait, this isn't my address, this is my old address, why do you have my old address on your record??
she said, you moved and didn't informed us of a forwarding address.
i said, YES I DID!!! and i showed her my ID with the new address, changed circa september. apparently, some months ago, when i got a speeding ticket, it was sent to my old address instead, and absence any reply my license got suspended.
so now i had to go to court, i was released only on police recognition, and a bond of $2000 if i failed to appear at the court.
holy moly crappy crappy crap!!
